Why Data Exchange?
Data Exchange is the industry standard for integration between Sage midmarket products in the UK and the outside world and has now been released for NetSuite. Data Exchange transfers information to and from NetSuite in a quick and easy manner requiring no technical skills other than understanding simple file formats such as .csv and .xml
Is that all it does?
No of course it does a lot more but the real value of Data Exchange is in its simplicity. Take web sites for example:
NetSuite to Web: You have a database on which the website is built, which might be bespoke, Magento, or any of a dozen other products. The website needs all inventory, customer details, pricing and fulfilment information from NetSuite to populate the website – Data Exchange does this straight out the box. Your web developer just needs to tell Data Exchange where it wants the information, how often it wants it and off you go.
Customers then place orders on the website that must be transferred to NetSuite for processing and billing. Data Exchange can do this out of the box, without any manual intervention by the end user. The benefits of Data Exchange are clear, by automating NetSuite with 3rd party systems you no longer have to manually re-key data between systems thus reducing errors in manual data entry.
What Else Can Data Exchange Do?
Mid-market ERP solutions such as NetSuite are built on the ability to customize the solution and Data Exchange is also customizable to meet the needs of your business.
Custom fields added to the NetSuite database can be transferred to the external system e.g. web specific data stored and managed in NetSuite and then exported to the website. Data Exchange is built on core functionality and then customized ‘translations’ can be created when you need them.
End users can choose their preferred method of data transfer – CSV, XML or web services via local folders, FTP or SFTP as appropriate, with a full audit log generated of all successful and failed imports.
Data Exchange is at heart a system integration tool, providing seamless integration between NetSuite and other third party systems including e-commerce websites, warehousing software, external CRM systems, or industry-specific solutions. Below are some examples of the many systems that we have already integrated with:

What do our customers say:
“Having the website integrated fully with our ERP system has saved a colossal amount of time and effort. We are currently loading about 2,000 product lines and expect this to rise to 10,000 in the future. Eureka’s module has saved us having to upload the details and images of each of these products to the website separately while also ensuring that there are no errors through duplication of work”.
John Breslin MD, Kelvin Power Tools
“As web developers we now wouldn’t consider an ERP/WEB integration without using Data Exchange. We have 20+ sites utilizing Data Exchange and now have our own ‘customized’ version that utilizes our back end system – Red Back. This gives us a USP over our competitors as we can offer end users ‘out the box’ functionality that our competitors view as customization. Data Exchange makes us more competitive.”
